Key Customers & Projects

The Sustainable Software development team is experienced in all aspects of design, development, operation, security, and maintenance of small- and large-scale systems. We have developed a number of hosted applications that support complex business logic for mission-critical environments. For example, the team developed HingeEPM, a platform for utility companies to manage energy-efficiency programs. The platform includes the management of energy-savings calculations, incentive payments, program workflow, project pipelines, workforce management, contractor enrollment, and customer interactions. Our team has delivered solutions for customers large and small, including:

  • Ecova (formerly Ecos IQ) – operations-management and reporting platform for a large-scale residential energy-efficiency program including integration with utility systems for account validation, installation crew assignment, daily crew route optimization, project scheduling, dispatch (including IVR integration), and call-center automation
  • Oncor Electric Delivery - custom application for managing a complex energy efficiency program portfolio, including workflow, participation rules, contractor-management, and regulatory reporting
  • Green Mountain Energy – deal-capture system to organize electric and gas trading activities for a competitive energy supplier
  • Constellation New Energy – load-forecasting and position reporting for wholesale electric supply management and retail pricing
  • Fulcrum Energy - application to manage scheduling retail electric providers in the ERCOT region
  • Iberdrola Group - pipeline management for wind turbine deployment
  • TriEagle Energy - system for prospect management, billing reconciliation, load forecasting and position reporting
  • Cirro Energy - customer account processing and load forecasting with online integration with ERCOT

Members of our team have also played key roles in non-energy/sustainability projects:

  • athenahealth, Inc. – a claims-processing SaaS platform serving over 25,000 physicians and handling over $3B in annual claim payments (Gatewood)
  • Pacific Healthcare - insurance processing software enhancements (Balasubramanian)
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan - insurance processing software enhancements (Balasubramanian)
